Virtual Concert Fundraiser-Benefiting The Amyloidosis Research Consortium

Event Details

My name is Megan Diehm and I am hosting a virtual concert fundraiser, benefitting the Amyloidosis Research Consortium. My mother was diagnosed in the beginning of June with Stage 4 Cardiac Amyloidosis- AL after months of her experiencing shortness of breath and a pretty bad cough. Like many of you, prior to the diagnosis I had never heard of Amyloidosis. After I got that heartbreaking call from my mom telling her family of this scary diagnosis, I took to Google to do some research. Cardiac Amyloidosis is an extremely scary thing to Google for the person diagnosed or a loved one who was diagnosed.

I quickly started looking for resources for Amyloidosis and found the Amyloidosis Research Consortium. Due to this being a rare disease, I knew I wanted to host a fundraiser to benefit patients living with Amyloidosis and ongoing research into improvement in treatments & clinical trials. Amyloidosis Research Consortium is making great strides in research into this complex & difficult to navigate disease. I want to ensure these research efforts can benefit my mom’s diagnosis and continue to improve the lives of all Amyloidosis patients & caregivers. Please consider joining us on either August 27th or September 10th for a fun & safe evening listening to some great musicians and raising money & awareness for the Amyloidosis Research Consortium. We are asking a suggested donation of $15 but welcome any & all to attend!
