On November 10, 2023 - Youngstown Mob Talk presented a special evening at the Stambaugh Auditorium called CAVBOMB... a Blast from the Past.
Over 60 years after the mafia car bombing that killed his father and younger brother, Charlie Cavallaro Jr. returned to Youngstown's northside, to talk about that fateful day, for the first time ever. Charlie is the sole survivor of the bomb and was severely injured in the blast.
Johnny Chechitelli and James Naples III host this once-in-a-lifetime retrospective of a violent mafia war that spanned two years and killed several high-profile racketeers, as well as a few innocent bystanders. Together, with Charlie Cavallaro Jr., as well as the last living FBI agent to work the case (Cecil Moses), they shine a light on Youngstown's darkest day. Using actual files from the FBI's "CAVBOMB" investigation, along with first person accounts, the book is finally closed on the most infamous and heinous crime in Youngstown history.
