Accelerating the Latinx New Majority Business Owners in Miami

The Latinx community is in a pivotal moment in U.S. history where they are expected to become part of the New Majority by 2050. As a Colombian business owner and community builder, there are certain cultural nuances to keep in mind as we work towards Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) for equal access and opportunity. Over the past year we have been evaluating the outcomes of our own entrepreneurship programs in the Latinx community to better understand how to grow the entrepreneurship ecosystem mentality across Hispanics, understand the challenges that entrepreneurs are having in their business, and exploring realistic solutions to the growth challenges they face. From confidence building to skills building, we share some best practices that can help entrepreneurship support organizations better engage this often misunderstood and “hard to reach” community.
