Mobetta Thursdays curated by Grammy Award-winning Maurice Brown is taking over Brooklyn's newest Music Venue "Now and Then NYC!" Enjoy some new material along with covers and impromptu songs made up on the fly by some of the world's most talented musicians. This week June 3rd Mobetta Thursdays Presents Marcus Gilmore.

Marcus Gilmore is a multi Grammy Award winning drummer/composer. While Marcus has been known to perform and record with a diverse array of the finest musicians in the world such as the late Chick Corea, Pharoah Sanders, and Savion Glover. He has also demonstrated his multifaceted musical talents and personality through long term solo projects with his own groups Actions Speak and Silouhwav. In 2020, he wrote his first orchestral composition titled “Pulse” as part of the 2018 - 2019 Annual Rolex Mentor and Protégé Art Project. He was also a featured musician on Pixar’s Academy Award winning film “Soul”.
Marcus, in all of his playing, integrates a unique style where he is musically expanding rhythm, while supporting the great musicians with whom he plays. He has also collaborated with Mulatu Astatke, Common, Zakir Hussain, Thundercat, Pat Metheny, Vijay Iyer, Flying Lotus, Cassandra Wilson, Jill Scott, Talib Kweli, Queen Latifah, Black Thought, Roy Hargrove, Nicholas Payton, Robert Glasper and Taylor Mcferrin.
"Now and Then" is Brooklyn's newest INDOOR/OUTDOOR venue with an amazing Sound System, an outdoor patio, delicious food and full bar. Every seat in the house is a perfect seat with a view of the bandstand.
