Zara Watkins - https://www.onpointexpertise.com/

I am an appellate attorney with 15 years experience perfecting appeals in state, federal, and immigration cases. I handle appeals as attorney of record or “Of Counsel” to solo attorneys and small law firms. I also help lawyers construct their appellate arguments from the ground up, from spotting the key issues in the case to researching and writing substantive motions for the trial court to attending trials to spot appeal issues and preserve them for the record.

I started my career at a Big Law firm in Manhattan (Torys LLP), but since 2007 I have worked as a solo practitioner. My clients either represent or are themselves individuals and small businesses dealing with a variety of legal subjects ranging from bankruptcy to asylum to foreclosure defense to real property disputes to decedent estates battles and many more in between. I have a particular knack for oral argument so, in addition to my own appellate cases, I often argue on behalf of other lawyers in courts across New York City––even in cases in which I did not write the brief.

I graduated from Georgetown Law Center, and Tulane University before that. I consider myself a lifetime student of the art of argument and I have continuously honed my persuasion skills since childhood. Why? Because I love making and winning arguments, which I consider to be the perfect intellectual exercise and the bedrock for the Rule of Law.

I am also an intrepid world traveler: I've visited 50 countries and counting. Interacting with people from so many different cultures has given me a unique insight into the minds of others, which serves me well when I am anticipating the argument that will be the most persuasive to a particular judge. My decades-long daily meditation and yoga practice also aids in my argument-making by keeping my mind focused and clear.

I am admitted to the bars of New York and Florida, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Southern District of Florida, the Second Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

This is all Attorney Advertising, of course. And Prior Results Do Not Guarantee The Same Outcomes.
